fire-Type Weaknesses

  • water: Water removes heat and displaces oxygen which helps extinguish fire.
  • ground: Soil, sand, and dirt can smother flames by cutting off oxygen and absorbing heat, preventing combustion.
  • rock: Dense, nonflammable stones absorbs heat, blocks flames, and prevents the spread of combustion.

fire-Type Resistances

  • fire: An object on fire when exposed to more heat, will only continue to be on fire.
  • grass: fire requires a fuel source to continue burning - grass would only add to the fire's fuel.
  • ice: Fire's high temperatures would cause ice to melt before it can cool down the flame.
  • bug: Bug's are highly vulnerable to fire. There are no known insects that have a biological fucnction that extinguishes fire.
  • steel: Fire's extreme heat would weaken and soften steel attacks, therefore making them less effective.
  • fairy: Fire is known to destroy many organism in nature, which is where fairies gain their power from. Likely this decision was for game-balancing however.
