steel-Type Weaknesses

  • fighting: Fighting can be viewed as "focusing kinetic energy", and with enough of it, you can dent, bend, reshape, and break durable steel.
  • ground: Steel is succeptible to the abrasive and shifting nature of ground - earthquakes with a 7.0 magnitude (or higher) can cause skyscrapers to collapse.
  • fire: Steel at a high enough temperature has been shown to melt, losing its rigidity, shape, and resilience.

steel-Type Resistances

  • flying: Metal armor was made to withstand other materials of equal and lesser hardness - beaks and talons are made of "keratin" which is the same materials as human nails! Metal is much more resilient than hard nails.
  • grass: Steel is not pourous enough for a root system to embed itself.
  • rock: Steel is harder than most rocks, and is also the material used for machines like excavators, crushers, hydraulic hammers, etc - all break down rock with ease.
  • bug: Bugs are often venemous and love to burough - steel is immune to poisons as it is not porous and non-organic, as well as has no easy entries for bugs to dig.
  • dragon: In Fairytales, a knight in shining ARMOR was used to defend against them!
  • normal: Your average joe is not making a dent in any kind of metallic structure.
  • psychic: Certain metals can block electro-magnetic signals such as lead and steel alloys - if psychic power is transmitted on that same wavelength, then it too would be blocked - but hey! Thats a "Tin Foil Hat" theory for you!
  • ice: Steel is often used to carve ice for aesthetics - steel makes damaging ice an art form.
  • steel: The best way to defend against a steel sword, is a steel shield.
  • fairy: Iron horseshoes are believed to function as wards against fairies as it is believed that fae can't cross iron barriers.

steel-Type Immunities

  • poison: Steel is not porous and non-organic - leaving poison no way to inflict its toxicity.
